January 2014 Forecast

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2014 is here. I feel like I could write a novelette on 2014, so read this when you have time, not on the fly this one!

I told a pal of mine, for anyone old enough to remember, this year is a lot like 1968. Protests, Riots, War, Assassination, but combined with Ideas for new organizations, ways of doing things, CHANGE, fellowship, and hopefully some great music from people who actually play instruments and can carry a tune without studio enhancements. The Environmental Movement and the Womens Movement were born of the 60's and are household words today, struggling against a selfish world, but never-the-less still here. Things born of these times last, and will withstand whatever it takes to entrench itself into the world for much needed change and perspective.

It will also be a time of great love, excitement, adventure, entrepreneur ship reflecting new kinds of business (co-ops anyone), a living wage, profitable but not greedy companies and fun and tears and excitement. In fact 2014 and 2015 will be years to remember, just like 1968-69 was. It's a time you will never forget.

Your Higher Self asked to be here now, to be part of the shift, the balance of good and evil, and to take sides. Are you a good person or a selfish person? Time to create your own tribes of like-minded people and surround yourselves with each other so that the battle will be won by "the good". Selfish people drain us and must be put aside. We must have strength for the coming years, as we will all be tested and changed and forced to choose sides. Apathy is a dead luxury. Step up or be stepped on. Dig your courage out of that old box in the back of the room. Dust it off. Make it shiny and new. It's time to take a stand.

A lot will be asked of you, but if you surround yourself with the right people you'll have some memorably good times. It's no longer time to try to fix people. Your energy must be used to work with people who have changed themselves and stand ready to take on the world. Organize. Plan protests. Have meetings about one thing you can change and change it. Adopt someone, like the old lady you know lives alone and never seems to have visitors. Take her to dinner, or come over and watch TV while you eat pizza. Make a friend. Make someone's life happier and yours richer for it. Volunteer. Give, but to places that can make a difference, not that friend who keeps complaining about the same old crap and never lifts a finger to change. Release, so your energy is there for more important things. What falls away this month especially, but really this whole year, outlived its time. Make room for new things to fill the emptied spaces. Have the courage not to cling, so that you are open to much bigger possibilities. February is when the change is really felt, and again in April as Jupiter has moved direct. Saddle up cowboys, its time to have an adventure.

So now the guilt trip. Ready? This time is serious Karma time. You came here to redo some past mistakes and make them right. If you don't, you will have to come back again and try to get it right. It's truly serious stuff here. You chose to be here now. So BE HERE NOW. Be in the moment, be part of the change not part of the problem, be brave and burn your security blankets whatever they may be. Reinvent yourself, and reinvent the world.

OK now to the Astrology for January.

January 1 is a new Moon. A time for beginnings. How appropriate that 2014 begins with the idea of the new. There is another new moon on the 31st. The month begins with new ideas, the month ends with solutions or the ability to implement those ideas. Full Moon is in Cancer Jan 15th. A powerfully emotional day that comes but once a year. The moon in her Glory, her home, all puffed up on emotional steroids. Rent some sad movies so you can cry all that out of you. Weep for the past, for the present and weep happy tears for the future.Tell people you care, bond friendships, appreciate them, nurture them.

Venus is retrograde in Capricorn till the end of January. She is a key player all month. She is what we want, desire, long for.....but she's frustrated in Capricorn anyhow, but especially so in retrograde. Relationships are more complex this month esp due to Mars in Libra who wants to be polite vs pushy so there is frustration of push/pull going on, causing delayed decisions. But Venus and Mars are also squaring each other, making for high creativity, sexual tensions and the desire to find a partner.

Uranus square Pluto, conjunct moon on the 1st. Crazy emotional energy going on. Changes going on internally, and manifesting down the road. This is a gestation month. Ruminate and find solutions. Venus turning direct on the 31st opens the doors for a wonderful February.

Jupiter still retrograde in Cancer, opposite Pluto, squaring Uranus. This opposition holds truths we don't want to see. It's part of the courage item. Look at the problems, stop hiding from them. See the bigger picture, then look within for answers.

Saturn is mid-Scorpio now, in the thick of the digging up of our underbelly stuff. Keep hacking away at it as you have been. It's all for the good, even though its dirty work and hard. Be strong and brave.

Mercury goes into Aquarius Jan 11th, releasing the stranglehold Capricorn has had on us. Conjuncting Pluto its all just too intense with so many planets in Capricorn and the Jupiter opposition. We will feel relieved, even freed. Be social, meet your soul mate, reunite with lost friends and loves.

February 6-28 retrograde Mercury is in Pisces. Sign contracts or start a business before or after these dates, not during if at all possible. The mind will be out of sync as emotional Pisces, deep emotions, is making Mercury fuzzy headed. Embrace the softer side of you, and it will be a lot easier. Let emotion have its say or at least equal sway in decisions.

So there you are. January is a microcosm of the new year. Inner work, outer work, releasing, finding courage, having fun with the right people around you, and solidifying or finding new love.
