Here comes a little astrology lesson. I am going to talk about astro things over time to help you see how astrology is an amazing art which interprets astronomy, and has for thousands of years. It's kind of like knowing what the Universe is up to - its a road map of what's around the corner. But first to glimpse some of how it works in your own chart.
Your first house is your costume, its how others see you but is not necessarily who you really are. It's calculated by the time of day you were born, and where in longitude and latitude you were, what city, you were born in. For example, if you have Pisces rising, people think you are dreamy, artistic, easy going, spiritual, take your time to make a decision, and perhaps are overly emotional or sentimental, and diplomatic - and you do have some of the qualities if this is your rising sign. But if you have Aries as your Sun sign, the real you, your soul if you will, you are really a go-getter, who acts impulsively, doesn't like restraints, has a short temper and can be too blunt and hurt people's feelings and does not like authority. But people don't see that when they meet you, only over time the "camouflage" wears off and they see who you really are. You chose this costume for a reason, how you want people to react to you, which can or won't give you an edge. Planets in your first house also add to the costume, i.e. if you have Saturn in your first house people see you as serious, even stern. If you have Pluto there you are always re-inventing yourself, or showing new parts of yourself to the world, showing the world different costumes.
When you look at one of those magazine horoscopes, you should be looking at your rising sign, because the houses are where planets move in and out of, and thus they affect you more based on the house they belong to. If you are a Leo, you are ruled by the Sun so your sun sign is especially important and often the horoscope for Gemini with Leo rising make both signs important in reading about transits. If you have Pisces rising, you are ruled by Neptune, and whatever is going on with Neptune is especially import to you at all time. In any case, the rising sign is significant so read your sun sign and your rising sign. Have I confused you yet? Astrology is complex. It takes years to really know it, and practice meeting people and doing their charts to understand how it all works. This is the life of an astrologer, to figure out people and understand them, and if they so desire, help them understand themselves.
Which brings me to this weeks transits. On Wednesday the 4th Venus in Taurus is sextile, or happy with, Neptune in Pisces. Love and spirituality are in harmony, as are goals, dreams and wishes. Let your mind flow freely on this day. Write down your ideas, don't dismiss anything, just get them out of your head onto paper. Later, sift through them and find the gems. There should be some good ones. It's also a good time to ask favors, meet important people and get wishes granted.
On Friday the 6th, the Sun now in Gemini, is happily playing with Uranus, the impulsive and brilliant guy, in Aries. Gemini is an air sign, and air signs are always thinking, while Aries is fire, and ruled by action. Time to review those ideas you generated Wednesday and get even more insight and inspiration. Take action. Be spontaneous and impulsive. Make those ideas happen.
On Saturday the 7th, Mercury, your mind, goes retrograde for 3 weeks. Our minds get funky. We are not thinking clearly, we make mistakes, or find mistakes made in the last retrograde come to life and need to be fixed. Mail, phone messages, packages get lost for a while, found when Mercury goes direct. Stuff falls out of our mouths that makes us run away shocking ourselves at what we said out loud. Its now time to clean up the past, and be ready for new things in July. That clearing can literally be your to do's or your closets, or your thinking patterns or your plans or your future. It's time for "do overs" and not for starting any of those ideas you just came up with earlier in the week. Brush against those ideas in the back of your mind from time to time, but don't implement them, they are new and this is about things we meant to do and now is the time to do them. Clear the decks from the past, make amends, reconnect with people from you past, or even visit places from the past and go down memory lane.
Till next week. Enjoy your clear head while you have it!! :))
