First lets talk about our old buddy Mercury going retrograde on the 17th. Mercury is in Libra, the sign of Love and ruled by Venus, just like Taurus. Mercury in Libra is into beauty, luxury, romance, exotic travel and intelligence on a higher level. When Mercury in this sign goes retrograde we can count on all that thinking to go to extremes. Don't buy that luxury condo in Belize until October 10th when Mercury will have gone direct again and saner thoughts prevail. Be cautious about decisions, over spending, over reaching in the luxury department....the bill will come due and shake your world. Retrogrades are also about the past. Time to clear up matters from the past. Get that to do list out and take care of procrastination. It also means people from your past will show up - friends, lost family, old lovers, even old co-workers or bosses could re-appear. Again, don't make any decisions about past acquaintances until the 10th...just enjoy them while they are here, not knowing how long they will stick around.
From a personal perspective, retrograde Mercury often brings up low self esteem issues. Your thinking can be more negative, you worry more and can even sabotage yourself with bad decisions. Just be good to yourself, quiet down, and think before you speak, and say "cancel" when your mind goes to negative thoughts about yourself too. Your brain needs a rest when Mercury is retrograde. Think about it. When does your brain stop, or slow down? Seldom. Retrogrades are gifts to your mind, a break, a rest. Just accept it and relax and don't try to push your brain too much or learn to much at this time. It's a time to just take it easy mentally. And in these stressful times, I am sure a break sounds really good anyhow.
Now onto the big, big, big change. Saturn, who pushes us to learn things even when we don't want to learn the hard way, is leaving deep, dark, secretive Scorpio. Hallelujah!!! He won't be back in Scorpio for 28 years, so we can breathe a sigh of relief for a while. Now Saturn, is often looked upon as the stern Father Figure, moves into Sagittarius, a whole shift of energy. The planet Mercury going retrograde and adapting to the new Saturn energy will probably make you feel very tired. Take naps, sleep longer, veg out. While you can't see it, your body feels the energy shifts and is in overwhelm. Give it the rest it needs, and the rest your mind and spirit needs as it shifts gears too.
Now Saturn isn't really a bad guy, its just that he won't take later for an answer. He is here to get things done and get them done he will. He rules Capricorn which rules actual physicality. Your body, your car, your roads and bridges, the Earth herself are the expression of matter, and without Saturn none of it would exist. But there are rules. He believes in the practical, the solid, the ultimate conservative - and now he is visiting Jupiter's domain, Sagittarius. This is a place filled with adventure, learning, traveling and deep spiritual seeking. Sagittarian's are the ultimate adventurers..addicted to learning and experiences. They are the last of the fire signs, and are full of energy and love movement vs what they perceive as stagnation. But Saturn isn't stagnation, he is solid and real and firm.
It will be time for us to become smarter and use it in our lives; time to become more worldly and see the bigger picture and incorporate that view into our daily view; and lastly, but most importantly, this is the time when our spiritual beliefs and values must be made real. Its past the time for philosophy, but action in our beliefs, walking our talk. It is time for all the inner work you have done the past 3 years while Saturn visited Scorpio, and take it out into the world and live and be an example for others. But be warned, Saturn cannot be fooled. He will place many tests before you, showing you how your beliefs are flawed so you can find a more stable and lasting view of the world, spirituality and your place within it. Sag is much more fun that Scorpio, so expected some light-hearted times as well. It's a time of exploring yes, but its a time to turn that knowledge into a philosophy that you live out everyday from here on out, for the new world we are building.
Ah the work never ends in these times. We came here karmically to work off past issues and release the baggage we carry from life to life, so we can begin again, renewed and fresh. Its clear up that baggage time, and its hard work, but do you want to procrastinate and do it all over again in another life? I for one want to be rid of this karmic baggage once and for all, and move ahead. Don't you?
